A little nature watercolor piece that I made as a donation for a silent auction at my city’s zoo. Proceeds go to elephant research (but I’m terrible...
An enclave. Watercolor, ink on cold-pressed watercolor paper. 8x8”.
My art - made from folded books
So excited to have finally gotten my Cat Cult sticker pack in the mail this weekend! And check out the original artwork on the envelope, love it!...
This week’s Origami class project…sunflowers and butterflies. The modular sunflower model is my own design and the butterfly model is designed by Akira Yoshizawa.
I finished a window display today for a custom frame shop in SF. I used an Origami parrot model which I hand-painted onto the tail feathers some of my dyes. The planes were vintage Nor Cal maps. This was fun!!
This week’s Origami class project…grasshoppers and giant lightning bugs! Both models are my own design.
The kids loved this one! I placed some of the insects atop pipe cleaners so they could move back and forth. Some kids made a pond, too.
This week’s Origami class project…sweet treats! The banana split dish and the ice cream cones are from Origami Club website.
The banana and root beer float are my own design. I added a biscotti cookie and cherry to the banana split. The foam on top of the root beer float is simply white tissue paper along with a paper straw.
This week’s Origami class project…parrots in paradise! The leaves and parrots are designed by Masato Ishikawa.
This week’s Origami class project. The clouds are a model found on origami club website.
The strands of rain are dental floss with hand-cut paper raindrops.
The umbrella is a simple fan fold.
Put it all together and you have April Showers!
I thought it would be cute to use this cloud as a paper version of the internet “cloud” service where you could store your rainy day ideas into the pocket and retrieve them as needed.
This week’s Origami class project: Mini Garden!
The lettuce/cabbage comes from a blintz base and then some folding upwards of the corners to create the 3D effect.
The carrot model is my own design. I put holes into the chipboard (which is covered with brown paper) so the carrots could seem like they were growing up out of the ground.
The tomatoes are my own design, too although they are a variation of a model which is probably already out there in Origami-land somewhere. The tomatoes can easily become strawberries with one less fold at the bottom (in case the students prefer them over tomatoes).
This is my design of an Origami Bunny Box. There are two bunny faces on it, one on the front side and the other on the back side.
The ears can be bent over to one side as seen in the above photograph.
Small candies or treats can be put inside the box.
Here is my first dollar bill Origami design…an Owl! It may become commissioned for an advertisement.
I will keep you informed if it is chosen or not.
